Beta terms

Download these terms as a text file

Treasure Trail is a personal project operated from the Netherlands. Contact basbelt15@gmail.com. These terms apply to adults using the beta for their family or authorised teaching.

Who can join

You must be at least 18 and use an invited Google account. Children use profiles managed by their parent or legal guardian. Only that adult may add a child or approve a teacher’s access to the child’s information. An invitation is personal to its email address; do not share your account, parent PIN or recovery code.

What the beta provides

The beta is free, with no subscription or payment obligation. It provides guided coding activities, parent tools and saved family work. Features and supported code are described in the app. The beta may contain errors and service interruptions; we do not promise uninterrupted availability, a complete curriculum, particular educational outcomes or arbitrary Scratch/Python conversion. Keep downloaded copies of important projects.

Your projects and other people’s work

You retain your rights in code, artwork and projects you create. You permit us to store, process and display that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service and the sharing you choose. Upload only content you are allowed to use. Scratch and other included software and assets have their own licences; see the credits and source download after signing in. Those licences are not replaced by these terms.

Safe, considerate use

Use nicknames and keep personal or sensitive information out of projects. Do not upload illegal or harmful content, harass people, attempt to access another family’s information, bypass permissions, distribute malicious code or deliberately disrupt the service. Tell us privately if you find a security problem; do not test it against another family’s records.

Teaching and sharing

A teacher may use only the child access a parent has explicitly granted and must respect revocation. A group does not grant access to unrelated family settings or personal projects. Private copy links may be passed on by their holders; review content before sharing. Revocation stops future copies, but does not recall copies already imported. There is no public child gallery in this beta.

Privacy and leaving

The privacy information explains what is stored and your choices. You may stop using the service at any time and request export or deletion by email. Turning off Studio or archiving a profile preserves its projects; it is not deletion.

Changes, interruptions and account restrictions

We may improve or change the beta. Material changes to these terms require an adult to review the new version before continuing. If we end the beta, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice and an opportunity to export work. We may restrict an account to address abuse, security or a legal obligation, and explain the reason where appropriate. Contact us to question a restriction.

Rights and complaints

These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limit mandatory consumer or privacy rights. Dutch law applies subject to the mandatory protections that apply where you live; you retain any right to bring a claim in the courts available to you under that law. For a service complaint, email us first so we can try to resolve it. Privacy complaints may also be made to the relevant data protection authority.
